With permission from the Animal Protection Institute (API), they discuss the common misconceptions of what consumers think they are buying and what they are actually getting. Christine and Vicki share information from API to help you determine exactly what is in the food you give your dog. They go over how pet food is made, some pet food secrets like co-packing and some of the marketing magic designed to trick consumers. Using the information from API, they discuss ways to help evaluate pet food using label basics, comparing dry food to wet food, all about pet food ingredients (protein, fat & additives). They discuss some of the potential contaminants as well as nutrition related diseases. This episode is full of information you surely do not want to miss!
